10.1. Study Material

Précis and Class Outcome:

This class deals with recovery from harmful past influences and leads to newness of life. Faith alone is the only door that gives entrance into the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, I am the door: by me if any man enters, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture (John 10:9). Once a person receives citizenship in this new kingdom, every right and privilege of that kingdom becomes his. At the very instant we declare Jesus the Christ to be our Lord and Savior, we are made partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4), accepted by a new family (Ephesians 1:6) and given new resources (Colossians 1:27) to live successfully in this New Kingdom. Exploring its full potential however, is a discovery! It is an ever growing, continually expanding experience. Abundant living in this world does not become a reality by faith. It becomes ours through obedience. This class will help you understand abundant living.

Text:   Romans 12:1-2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed [soos-khay-mat-id’-zo, meaning to fashion self according to; to conform one’s self and character to another’s pattern] to this world: but be ye transformed [met-am-or-fo’-o, meaning to change into another form, to transform] by the renewing [an-ak-ah’-ee-no-sis, a renewal, renovation, complete change] of your mind [nooce, the mind, comprising the faculties of perceiving, understanding and judging] that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
